Now the folk festival is over (have you got your tickets for next year? 21 to 23 October 2016) things are going to be a bit quiet on the folk front until the Christmas season.
It’s a good time to find out about our local clubs and what happens in them. Were there any instruments that caught your eye at the festival? Will you be putting a new guitar or uke on the list for Santa?
There are lots of places you can go to learn to play instruments within the town but once you feel performance ready, then where do you go? Well, in Hartlepool we’re lucky enough to have several options. Every other Friday (next meeting is next Friday, 13 November 2015) you can attend at the Pot House for the Headland Folk Club, run by Paul and Barrie. And every Monday you can visit the Nursery Inn in Hopps Street, Hartlepool, and attend at Pools Folk and Acoustic Music Club where Yorkie will be pleased to host the evening.
And each Tuesday you’re welcome in the Causeway Inn in Stranton, Hartlepool to meet with the Foggy Furze Folk Club for their weekly get together. This is hosted by Kay De ‘Ath.
You’re welcome in any of the clubs, whether it’s just to listen or play or sing. At the Foggy Furze Folk Club, it’s £1 per evening for a singaround and £2 for a guest night. You can contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or read this article again on www.foggyfurzefolk.com. We start at 8.00 pm each Tuesday and look forward to seeing you.
