Welcome to the folk slot, everyone, are you ready to go Scottish this weekend?
Tonight is the regular fortnightly slot for you all to rush to the Fishermans’ Arms for the Headland Folk Club.
Sunday 25th is Burns Night so there are several offerings through the next few days where you can whet your appetite for traditional Scots Fayre.
On Saturday, 24 January 2015, at the Fisherman’s Arms in Southgate on the headland, Skyran are playing lots of Robbie Burns numbers in their inimitable fashion from 8.00 pm.
Over at the Nursery Inn in Hopps Street, Hartlepool, on Monday, 26 January 2105 from 8.00 pm, the Mad Hatters will be celebrating with some Burns numbers and some Scottish songs and there is to be mash, neeps n tatties if you want them.
The Foggy Furze Folk Club will be encouraging Burns and Scottish songs on Tuesday, 27 January 2015, but nothing is mandatory. We’re just there to have a good time and enjoy ourselves.
All in all there’s a chance of very heather-flavoured offerings whichever of the local clubs you attend this week so go with it and have fun. Kilts are optional but some form of clothing on your nethers will be recommended with the weather we’re being forecast.
Want to keep up on the situation locally? Please get in touch with me on email@example.com or get onto www.foggyfurzefolk.com. Come along to any of the local clubs, you’re assured of a welcome. We’re very friendly.
