I hope you’re ready for this weekend Hartlepool, the folkies are champing at the bit, it all starts in the Cosmopolitan at 5.00 pm today. There’s so much planned at nine venues:- St Mary’s Church, St Hilda’s Church, Headland Baptist Church, the Cosmopolitan, the Harbour of Refuge (Pot House), The Fisherman’s Arms, The Globe, The Headland Library and the Town Square, you just need to get yourself over to the Headland RIGHT NOW and get immersed in folk. Guests include Brasy, The Wilsons, The Young ‘Uns, Ciaran Algar and Greg Russell, and lots of other groups, local and national.
Now, on Monday, everything goes back to normal and the Pools Folk and Acoustic Club meets in the Nursery Inn, Hopps Street, Hartlepool.
On Tuesday, The Foggy Furze Folk Club meets at the Athanaeum Club, Church Street, Hartlepool, and plays host to Mezzanine, a new duo who’re just setting out together but who’ve been in other bands around and about for a while.
The next meeting of the Headland Folk Club (after tonight) will be next Friday, 18 April 2014 over in the Pot House where Barrie Archer will be there to greet you.
