Like everyone else, folk clubs are looking forward to the spring and the likelihood of beer festivals, folk festivals and gatherings.
Of course, the one of most interest to us locally is the Hartlepool Folk Festival, to be held on the Headland the weekend of 11 and 12 April 2014. For full details, check out ‘Headland Folk Festival 2014’ on facebook.
At the Foggy Furze Folk Club, held at the Athanaeum Club in Church Street, Hartlepool each Tuesday, on 11 February 2014, we enjoyed an evening spotlighting Foolsgold Acoustic from Northumberland. It’s been a while since we’ve seen them and it was great to catch up. An excellent evening and loved the dancing highwayman song.
Over on the Headland, the next time Barrie Archer will be waiting to host the Headland Folk Club evening at the Pot House will be next Friday, 21 February 2014. He says if you don’t find them in the usual big room, try one of the smaller rooms, they might have moved along a bit to a different room, but he’ll be there.
The Pools Folk and Acoustic Club meets each week at the Nursery Inn, Hopps Street, Hartlepool, where Yorkie and the members welcome all visitors, either contributors or audience, and look forward to entertaining them.
If you want further information regarding any of the above, you can stay in touch using www.foggyfurzefolk,com or, alternatively, get in touch with me on email@example.com. It’ll be good to hear from you. Over at the FFFC it’s £1 on a singaround night and £2 for a guest night.
