  • In the Causeway, Stranton, Carol Southwell is playing host to the newest folk club in town and looks forward to welcoming you tonight. And also in the Causeway, on Sunday, 17 November 2013, local folk Skyran are playing from about 5.30.

Just a little out of town, Skyran are playing the Billingham Catholic Club which is a charity night in support of the air ambulance on 21 November 2013.

Over on the headland, the Headland Folk Club will be held next Friday, 22 November 2013 at the Pot House, where you can get your folkie fix, with Barrie Archer ready to greet you warmly.

Over at the Foggy Furze Folk Club, held each Tuesday evening at the Athanaeum Club in Church Street, Hartlepool, they’re playing host to Just Us Kitchy Retro, returning for one evening on 26 November 2013. We’re looking forward to their choice of singalong songs and lively style.

Hartlepool, Pools Folk and Acoustic Club meet at the Nursery Inn, Hopps Street each Monday, preceded by a drum club. They’re busy having fun with a mix of folk, Americana, blues, Irish music and so on. And some glorious recitations lately, from various sources, but always funny.

Over at the FFFC, it’s only £1 entry on a singaround night, or £2 for a guest night. You can keep up with what’s happening or get in touch on www.foggyfurzefolk.com or get in touch on kay.death@yahoo.co.uk . You’ll be welcome.

At the Foggy Furze Folk Club, our next spotlight night is a flying visit from Just Us Kitchy Retro on Tuesday, 26 November 2013.  Their lively style and choice of singalong songs means that we’re looking forward to their contribution.

Over at the Nursery Inn, Hopps Place, Hartlepool, Pools Folk and Acoustic Club have been having some excellent evenings recently.  Great jam sessions, virtuoso performances, wonderful entertainment.

The Mad Hatters are taking part in a charity night over at the Seaton Social Club next Friday, 8 November 2013, along with a group called Double Edge.  Only £5 a ticket, funds being raised for a cystic fibrosis charity.

There’s a new session on a Friday, every other Friday, opposed to the Headland Folk Club so that they don’t clash.  A well thought-through plan.  The first evening is tonight, Friday, 1 November 2013 at the Causeway in Stranton and Carol Southwell will be there to welcome you.

That means that the Headland Folk Club will be held next Friday, 8 November 2013 at the Pot House and Barrie Archer will greet you warmly for your folkie fix.
