It’s a relatively quiet time musically on the folk scene, but all around bands are starting to practice their seasonal music so they can properly deliver over the Christmas and New Year period.

Nowadays there’s a new musical venue down at the Smallcrafts Club on the corner of Queen Street and Commercial Street, over on the marina, each Thursday evening.  They have been holding a session each Thursday and only yesterday they played host to the Mad Hatters who went down a storm.

Next Tuesday, 8 October 2013, the Foggy Furze Folk Club play host to Exiles From Eden who have played previously for the club.  The FFFC meet at the Athanaeum Club each Tuesday from 8.00 pm to 11.00 pm and all singers, performers and audience are welcome to join us.  The Exiles play a good selection of standard, well known songs in many genres – folk, country, some 60’s pop, jazz and Irish tunes, all to get your feet tapping.

Skyran continue to branch out and tonight perform over at O’Connells in Middlesbrough.

The Pools Folk and Acoustic Club are still awaiting your visit over at the Nursery Inn at Hopps Street, Hartlepool.
