Lots going on in Hartlepool on the local folk scene.

Over at the Foggy Furze Folk Club, held on every Tuesday evening at the Atheneum Club in Church Street, Hartlepool, we were entertained by the very talented Andy Broderick with a taste of modern, traditional Irish music.  He gave us songs of depth and intensity, of mournfulness and jollity and, to finish, some songs we all knew and played and sang along to.  An evening of good, old-fashioned entertainment.

Jeff Butterfield has gone north with his trusty guitar, Skyran are busy playing their new set in the Causeway (when they’re not pirating in Whitby)and Yorkie and his merry men are playing about and having lots of fun every Monday at the Nursery in Hopps Street, at the Pools Folk and Acoustic Club.

By the time you get to read this, the FFFC will have been on a club swap visit to Whitley Bay and they’ll be getting ready to give a (kind?) listening ear to your very own writer on Tuesday, 25 September 2012…………………………………The Headland Folk Club had lots of lovely visitors last Friday.  They’re open for business again next Friday, 28 September 2012 over at the Pot House……………………………………So, get yourself out and folking about over the next two weeks.  At the FFFC it’s £1 on a singaround night or £2 on a guest night.  Remember you can always keep up on the gossip at the FFFC on www.foggyfurzefolk.com or contact me at kay@foggyfurzefolk.com.  Keep on folking.
